Colin Jones=Evans

I have over 25 years’ experience of consulting for individuals, teams and organisations.  During that time I’ve worked in the Far East, Middle Mast, Europe and USA with government, local authorities, and blue-chip businesses in oil and gas, insurance and finance, manufacturing, retail, broadcast media, fmcg and pharmaceuticals.

I specialise in developing programmes that build personal awareness and leadership skills. I also coach teams and individuals to develop and optimize their performance as well as how to face tough situations with renewed confidence.  I love helping people overcome their personal challenges, whether it is developing a new skill such as influencing or making presentations, overcoming a personal block or bringing together and managing a new team of diverse personalities. 

I’m a licensed user of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, LIFO, TalentQ, Saville Wave and the Margerison-McCann Team Management Profile and Linking Skills.  I’m also a qualified NLP Master Practitioner. My book ‘Perfect In-House Training’ was published by Arrow.  In the last two years I’ve started training as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, during which time I’ve come to appreciate how much of what we do is influenced by our perception of reality, leading to habits and how we can address so many issues by understanding and challenging what drives our perception.

Example assignments

Performance Management Consulting
A leading global financial services firm needed to revise its performance management system to better recognise the contribution of individuals as well as their skills.  I worked with them to revise their competence matrices, scoring systems, communication, documentation and training of managers to successfully introduce the new process.

Team Development 
A new executive team in a leading broadcaster wanted to develop a better understanding of themselves and how they could work with each other more effectively.  I designed and facilitated workshops with the executive team and then with each member and his/her own team to develop a common language and mutual understanding to help them play to their strengths.

Negotiation Skills
A major European insurer was losing money through the underwriting and claims-settlement parts of the business.  I was asked to work with their senior management team to design programmes to develop better negotiation skills for all levels of staff in both areas of the business.  This resulted in measurable improvements to both income and cost savings.
