I work internationally as a management & change consultant, an executive level coach, team facilitator and interpersonal skills trainer.
I guess I’m fascinated and passionate about helping individuals and teams to achieve results, together with feeling a true sense satisfaction in what they do - something all too often lost in the grip of large organisations. Prior to setting up my own business and working with the 2gether Partnership, I had several leadership and management roles in a FTSE 100 business – ranging from Product Design, Strategic Planning Marketing, to running Transformation Projects and latterly running the Learning and Development function across 5 UK sites.
In addition to a wide range of training, consultancy and executive coaching skills, I am a certified NLP Master Practitioner, NLP Trainer, and a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. I have a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering – which I suppose has taken a backseat – but rears its head occasionally in my spare time!
Working with 2gether Partnership colleague Tom Costello, we co-developed a suite of management / interpersonal skills programmes for a prestigious client organisation in Saudi Arabia. The recent modules include a very well received and highly interactive 2 day ‘Coaching for Performance’ workshop and a powerful 2 day ‘Leading and Influencing’ event. Participants spoke very highly of the effectiveness and practical ‘back-in-work’ usefulness of these events and the compelling style of design and delivery.
I recently completed an in-depth coaching assignment with a senior Procurement Director in a highly pressurised role in a global industrial organisation. Challenges included influencing at Board Level, managing the pressure brought on by significant business transformation challenges, whilst keeping a healthy work-life balance. He found the blend of executive coaching and NLP techniques hugely beneficial and was able to gain traction at Board level for a significant change project, whilst mobilising the energy of his team to drive a successful launch of the initiative. He also found his appetite for the role grew through the experience.
I recently designed and facilitated a senior leadership team event in a well-known UK engineering business. The team was facing enormous change challenges. Working closely with the new MD, I ran events which successfully enabled the team to clarify the road ahead, and build significant commitment both to the challenges and to each other as a team. They describe having recently ‘turned a difficult corner’ thanks to the work we continue to do together.
