I have more than thirty years’ experience in developing people and facilitating groups. I have worked with a large range of mainly international clients in most commercial sectors and local and national government. I am passionate about learning and helping clients grow and develop. I try to lead through example, integrity and care for my clients who often say I make it easy for them to talk about the tough stuff.
My work over the last ten years has had a mainly leadership, team and individual focus. I also specialise in consulting and facilitation skills and am an experienced executive coach. Much of my work has been informed by an approach to influencing called ‘Positive Power and Influence’ and also by a new wave of authentic and personal mastery approaches which I was instrumental in creating.
Leadership and Influencing
A large mobile telecommunications company wanted practical, easily implementable leadership development for all UK area managers and regional directors which would be suited to their fast moving sales environment. The leadership element of the development has improved their range and flexibility of influencing skills so that they have a set of leadership behavioural skills that can be used according to the situation they face.
I was asked to provide support to two major divisions of a national power generating company to resolve interface problems and improve working across a complex matrix organisation. As a result of the coaching the divisions were able to have more productive conversations and raised their awareness of the need to understand the perspective of others when they influence.
A global Motor Finance company wanted to improve the team working across the business. I designed and ran workshops in the UK, USA and Germany for country Managing Directors and key directors of this General Motors offshoot over two years. The work improved the matrix working and relationships across the business.
